Fraud is big business,
don't be its partner in crime
Fraud. From online shopping scams to marketplace rip-offs, criminal ‘entrepreneurs’ are always coming up with new ways to make a quick buck. In 2023 that equated to £2.3billion. The same as Tesco’s annual net profit. Making it one of Britain’s fastest growing businesses.
But when it comes to fraud prevention, most people think they’ll get their money back, so it’s hard to make them care. We knew we had to change human behaviour, and make them start caring.
We wanted to let people know that nearly half of that £2.3 billion, went on to fund much more serious crime, like drugs, human trafficking and gun crime.
Partnering with Meta marketplaces, we tackled the problem at the source. With newsworthy ideas to get the nation talking about the issue and keep it at the top of the agenda, we shone a light on the darkest side of fraud, and gave our customers the tools to do their bit.
